Engagement at Work

What is engagement?

Engagement is the strength of the mental and emotional connection people feel towards their work, their team and their organisation.

When engagement is strong, things tend to work the way they should. People have energy for what they do. Teams collaborate more naturally. Productivity improves. Work feels meaningful rather than draining.

When engagement is low, the opposite starts to show up. Work can feel harder than it should. Motivation drops. Teams disconnect. Even small things can begin to feel heavy.

That’s because engagement sits at the centre of so much of our working lives. It influences how we show up, how we work with others, how much energy we bring to the day, and ultimately how satisfied we feel with our work and our lives.

Engagement isn’t just about liking your job. It’s about feeling connected to what you do and why it matters.

And when that connection strengthens, everything else has a way of improving alongside it.

Strengthening that connection is where my work begins.
